Math problem ... for sale is 124 4" squares of fabric - how many yards does that make it?
As in .... I want to make a blanket out of the squares if its enough, a rag quilt. I want the blanket to fit a double bed, I need approx 70" square blanket. (bit less width wise is ok). Will this work, how many yards does this come out to be? I need 5 yrds for each side of blanket 10 yrds all together

This is a tricky question because a "yard" of fabric is not usually a square yard, but most here at the math forum will probably answer it that way. Typically a yard of fabric is 3' x 5', but it can be 3' x many other measurements as well.
Working from your 70" square number, you can make a 72" x 72" side using 18 x 18 of your fabric squares, so at 18 x 18 = 324, that is a lot more than you have. & that is only for one side, it sounds like you use separate squares for the other side so total you would need 324 + 324 = 648 four inch squares for a 72" x 72" quilt.
A true square yard is 36" x 36", so it would take 9 x 9, or 81 of your squares to make a true square yard. Therefore you have 124/81 = 1.53 square yards of fabric
A fabric "yard" is typically 36" x 60", so it would take 9 x 15, or 135 of your squares to make a typical fabric yard, so you have 124/135 = 0.92 yards, so you have less than a typical fabric yard.
If you want the 10 yards you mention at the bottom, that would be 10 * 36" * 60", that would be 21,600 square inches of fabric, which would take 1350 of your four inch squares.
